Congratz to Livi (imheartsick) and Henry (HiRymes) who have been hired as Global Mods and Liz (Nyantachan) as a Mod to help us out.

We have not finished hiring yet, so to those of you who have applied, fear not we aren't done with hiring of mods yet, we are just hiring those we are all on agreement on! We are having a really hard time choosing because we received so many awesome applications XD

If you haven’t noticed AK has been growing like wow, we have reached the 530+ member point. Seeing as over half our staff team is on semi-hiatus due to health issues/school/personal life, we are in need of more help yet again.

I have recently promoted bigmow to global mod as we only have one active Global Moderator (Zeldi). But we are in need of more mods for sure!


Job’s requiring help

* To-Do List Tracking
this will include making sure the members in your section are at 10 songs or less, and as well as poking other members to create to-do-lists if they have not done so already.

* Personal Projects Section
this job includes making sure each member only has one project going on at a time. Poking project leaders when necessary and keeping tabs that they don’t go MIA as deadlines come and go.

*China Project Section
this job includes making sure no more than 2 projects are running at any given time. Making sure each official project has set up sign up limitations. Updating song suggestion list. Keeping track of deadlines and poking project leaders when necessary. Will be the main project organizer, but that does not mean others cannot claim or organize projects either.

*Newbie Central Section
will be expected to welcome the new members officially, encourage newbies to join in these “debut releases”. Help Admin organize new songs and projects as suggested by the newbies. Will probably have to mix songs more often as newbies generally wont know how. Etc etc…

*Event Studio
split job between two mods. One organizes yearly/seasonal AK events and special side events, while the other will concentrate on organizing AK contests, prizes and voting round system while consulting with the seasonal mod – we need a contest mod for this one to help mysticwater

Deadline Tracking/Calendar Updates
to better organize AK and help its members stay on track of deadlines this mod will update the calendar with any and all deadlines and deadline changes. as well as linking the deadlines to the appropriate threads. – this person will be helping char, as she is severely overworked

Layout Editor
helps keep AK fresh with new layout designs and graphics. Can also host graphic contests to which she can then turn into a proper layout. Keeps AK from getting boring and repetitive. Able to format custom/multiple skins for members to chose from. – this person will be helping mle and hopefully help lessen the time load when creating new layouts

*Project Master List Updates
job will including keep track of all the new releases and updating the master list on a daily basis. As well as organizing the old LJ archive list. – this person will be helping char, as she is severely overworked


Global Moderator + Moderator positions open
- If chosen as a Global Moderator you’ll be expected to do a bit of everything on top of your main tasks.

New to AK? Not able to join any projects because of the ninja members? Well the Newb section is definitely your place to start karaoke-ing here at AK!

Formerly, the Newb section (http://forums.asian-karaoke.net/forum/37429/) was just a section for Mods to create big projects, but because the projects were so big, the number of projects held were few, defeating the purpose of helping out with new members. Now, 'newb' members of AK can make their own projects in Newb section! So don't be discouraged. Everyone at AK will help you guys participate in projects. Hello, this is your slacking mod, indoorlawnchair, lol.

First thing's first. It's been about a month since the summer project deadline. To those that said they would do their parts/just need to upload it: Please do it asap. To those that can cover: Please volunteer. At this point, it doesn't really matter if you're in the song already. I just want to get this project to the mixing stage. Teamwork, away!

Secondly, to anyone who hasn't been to AK in a while. We have our new layout! Thanks to mle_shock for putting it in place and to Saki for her lovely banner. Nice job, guys! And thanks to everyone else who entered the banner contest.

The problem seems to fix, but box.net was acting up with outbound links and what not. If it ever happens, you can just copy the link address (only the box.net/shared/etc). Just in case though, make sure to keep your parts on your computer until the project is release. And this applies to everyone, not just those who use box.net

Finally, we are not setting restrictions on signatures, now that people seem to be abusing what they put in it and not thinking of the poor people with small monitors/slow computer XD
- You are allowed to only have two images: It can be either gif & pic, pic & pic, or gif & gif
- If there is going to be any text, you may have up to four lines if the font size is normal. If you use huge font size, just try to not overdue it.
- The maximum width allowed is 565 px (no pagestretching, please)
- The maximum height allowed is 300 px. If you have two images on top of each other, the total height must be 300 px. We don't want two images on top of each other with 300 px. That's just excessive.

If you guys are unclear about whether your sigs are fine, just shoot a mod a PM. Please try to change your sigs within the next week, if you find your sigs breaking the restrictions. If we mods find any sigs that are breaking the restrictions after a week, we'll send the members a PM. If the member doesn't do anything, then we'll remove the sig.
