The AK Guide

International Charts – Releases and News/Announcements

  • News & Announcements – Any new news and announcements dealing with the status of the forum will be posted here by one of the AK Admins. An occasional poll will be posted to see what AK-IANS want for the forums. A suggestion box for members as well as an affiliate post is found here.
  • AK Releases – The official releases of Asian Karaoke. Only mods can post here, so if you want a Personal Project, solo, duet, or trio posted PM them with the songs. In order to keep the page less cluttered, the releases are divided into Official Projects, Personal Projects, and Solos/Duets/Trios once the more recent releases knock them onto the second page. Master lists of releases both here on the forums and AK’s old livejournal are found here.
  • Singing Scraps – Releases in which AK-IANS themselves post. Do not confuse this as a place to post your solos, duets, or trios, though. Releases include, but are not limited to, private AK collabs, collabs at a place other than AK, solo scraps (something you wanted to sing, but did not want to be released as an official solo, whether it be because you think it fails or you didn’t want to sing the whole song), and any non-asian songs. At the moment, there is no organization within the scraps section. Go here to find more about Singing Scraps.

Producer Panel – The necessary topics for AK to manage.

  • Rules & Regulations – The basic things of AK: Rules, FAQ, official AK links, and mod profiles.

  • Member To-Do Lists – Making a To-Do List is indeed mandatory. Post one in the group corresponding to your username, and frequently update your list, but update using the first post only, please. Make sure your list does not surpass 10 songs, and if it does, then you will have a limited time to bring it down or you will be removed from one of the songs. Mods will notify you to update your post or if they see your list is past the limit. It is also recommended to link your to-do list on your signature, so you can easily access it.

Recording Studio – The foundation of AK: the projects. Official projects can either be a mix or just one song. There are a list of suggested songs to cover in the Japan, Korea, China, and Multicultural topics.

  • Newbie Central – This was formed to help new members participate. New members and members that have participated in less than five songs, been gone for more than three months, or rarely get to join projects are eligible for joining these projects that the mods open. There is also Newb FAQ to hopefully answer any questions regarding with how AK works.
  • Personal Projects – Projects that any member can open. You can open any asian song you want, but be sure to read the rules first. You are only able to open one project at a time, but you are allowed to hold a maximum of three songs in one project. Do not neglect your duty as the project leader or there will be consequences. Once the project is ready to be released be sure to read this to know what you need to send to a mod.
  • Japan – Japanese official projects held by mods. Anime songs, JE songs, Korean groups’ butchered Japanese songs, you name it!
  • Korea – Korean official projects held by mods. SM songs, JYP songs, and any other Korean songs that exist!
  • China – Despite the current lack of projects, AK mods are working on opening more Chinese Mixes. This topic is open to any dialects of Chinese.
  • Multicultural – The ‘other’ section for mods to open up official projects. It can be for any other asian language aside from Japanese, Korean, and Chinese, or it can be a mixed language project.
  • Finished projects – Once any project is finished and released, it is closed and moved here. This is mainly so lyrics can be linked in the release topic if the lyrics were posted directly on the forums and to make one place for all the finished projects to go.

All Around Asia - For everything not dealing with projects and rules. Have some fun, get to know each other, get some help, and many more things.

  • Randomness – The place to have fun, chat with fellow members, and do basically anything not relevant to covering songs. The Really Randomly Talking is a place where AK-IANS talk to each other on the forum. There are also fun topics dealing with AK-IANS, threads to talk a different language, threads to fangirl, threads to post pictures and videos, and many more.
  • General Affairs – The place to keep AK in order. There is an introduction thread, a hiatus thread, and a graduation thread. There are also lists of the members and how to contact them. Request Central is found here, and it is the place to request for anything dealing with covering songs
  • Tutorial Corner – The place to get advice on singing, recording, and mixing. You can also ask any questions dealing with those three in the corresponding threads.

Still lost? Ask away.
